摘要：We examine inter-firm knowledge spillover within business groups, leveraging the impact of high-tech zone upgrading in China. We find that upgrading stimulates innovation in directly affected and non-upgraded regions, leading to an average 8.2% increase in subsidiary innovation. Spillover is tied to the internal knowledge market and is stronger in more important subsidiaries and those with co-manager linkage. It is unaffected by geographical distance. The internal labor market, facilitating collaboration between inventors and subsidiaries, drives this spillover effect. We do not find evidence for the role of internal capital markets. This study highlights the significance of inter-firm knowledge spillover and the network effect of innovation within business groups.

嘉宾介绍：曹春方，中山大学管理学院会计学教授、博士生导师，学术主任（本科会计学专业），入选国家级高层次人才项目青年学者、财政部高层次财会人才素质提升工程、广东省自然科学杰出青年基金获得者、中山大学逸仙学者。研究领域为公司治理与会计、企业集团治理、国企改革与创新，在The Accounting Review、Review of Finance、《经济研究》（4篇）、《管理世界》（6篇）等期刊发表50余篇学术论文，论文被“哈佛法学院公司治理与金融监管论坛”和国内主流媒体转载，被世界银行报告引用。主持广东省自然科学基金-杰出青年项目、国家自然科学基金（3项）等项目。
